Comic book fans of all ages: get ready for the ninth annual Schomburg Black Comic Book Festival, the virtual edition!

Each year, the Schomburg Center’s Black Comic Book Festival brings creators, illustrators, writers, and independent publishers together with thousands of collectors, blerds, and nerds for two days of programming and activities. The highly-anticipated community event includes interactive panel discussions, a vendor marketplace featuring exclusive titles by Black creators, a cosplay show, and more.

Black Comic Book Festival participants are encouraged to wear their favorite cosplay costumes and to register for the annual cosplay show (details TBA).

Opening: Juried Art Exhibition

13th Annual Juried Member Exhibition and Contest, Juried by Blue Door Art Center Executive Directors, Luis Perelman and Julie Cousens. Artist-Members of the Blue Door Art Center display their work in this special juried members-only exhibition. This exhibition will be in gallery and online. We will be handing out awards, Best in Show will receive a $100 cash prize and a ribbon, four other winners will receive recognition, bragging rights and a prize ribbon. We are pleased to announce that we will award a cash prize and ribbon from the Hudson Valley Arts Association. Please join us for the opening on Saturday, January 9th, from 1 - 6pm. We will be social distancing so please wear a mask and plan no more than 30 minutes. We want to be sure to accommodate everyone safely.
